From a nominator:
William started Stooping Club as a junior at The College Preparatory School. He started by just picking up stuff left on street corners, photographing them and posting them online for free. Soon others discovered his website, and donations poured in. I have donated to Stooping Club because unlike other organizations that might send my donations to landfill, William makes use of everything. He works diligently to sort, photograph and distribute things. He characterizes it as the first free online chain store to offer used household items for free, as a way to encourage more reuse, divert items from landfill and build a more sustainable society. You can look at his website at berkeleystooping.org.
After he started the club, it quickly grew in popularity at his school but kids from other schools learned about it. William generously mentored other kids, and he was able to work with them to create different branches of stooping clubs to encourage more reuse in those school communities too. He has made a tremendous impact in his community as well as other communities.
William is now a freshman at UC Berkeley, and he wasted no time figuring out how to work with UC Berkeley Housing and Dining to divert waste generated by students moving out of the dorms to another use. He works tirelessly, and cheerfully accepts donations and distributes donations. His positive can-do attitude is inspiring.

Good job!
Great work!
I am interested in Chris kindness award!
This is a charity which helps improve both at a local level and a global level. It’s great for creating a green future while also being able to supply free and high quality products to the local community. I believe it deserves to win because it is practical on both those levels and is also easy to replicate around the world, something which William is already doing creating a global network of charities which will both improve their neighbors lives and reduce carbon footprints.
It’s great to see that William, as a young generation, dedicates his time to helping society. He’s also very generous to assist and encourage other young people to help the society.
William has poured his heart into stooping club, which has benefited many people in the communities.
Support recycling of used items and give them to those in need.

William is the Best!
I think it’s an excellent initiative for people to take advantage of what others discard, to preserve relics and equipment that still have value.
William Chui, a young philanthropist worthy of respect!
I truly hope my son will grow to be as kind-hearted as his older brother. His kindness and warmth inspire more children to share love and compassion with others.
I’ve known William since his high school years, and he has always been a thoughtful, kind, and genuinely driven young person.
What impresses me most is not just what he’s built, but the care and responsibility he brings to serving the community.
